Humbert Davis, acting president of the National Association of Domino Bodies (NADB), believes that the tournament will be one to remember, with thrilling competition anticipated.
The tournament, which will be held at the BirdShack Fried Chicken Ocho Rios Bypass Plaza on Sunday, promises to be a gripping competition. The event will start at 10:00 am, and players will compete in a knockout format for pairs. The entry fee is $3,000 but with a prize pool of over $400,000 to be won, the stakes are high. Entry fee includes a three-piece meal combo.
The prizes for the tournament are impressive, with the first-place winner taking home $250,000. The second-place winner will receive $150,000, and the third-place winner will get $50,000. With so much at stake the players will need to bring their A-game to succeed.
Davis expressed his enthusiasm for the tournament.
“With the amount of entries being anticipated, this tournament will be very exciting,” Davis told the Jamaica Observer, adding that the NADB is committed to providing a fun and competitive environment for all players.
“We are excited about the level of interest in this tournament and we expect it to be a highly competitive event. The format of the competition will be based on the number of entrants received, so we’ll be finalising the details as soon as possible as we are scheduled to finish by 5:00 pm,” Davis added.
Davis also emphasised the importance of fair play and sportsmanship.
“We want to ensure that all players have a great experience, and we’re committed to upholding the highest standards of fair play and sportsmanship. The competition is expected to be fierce, with players from all over the region coming to compete. The event will be a great opportunity for players to showcase their skills and compete against the best in the business,” explained Davis.
