24-y-o man charged in shooting of TVJ worker
KINGSTON Jamaica — A 24-year-old man has been charged after allegedly shooting a Television Jamaica (TVJ) employee with the media worker’s gun during a ride home last month.
Charged is 24-year-old John Dormiville of Southern Cross Drive, Kingston 17.
Reports from the Harbour View Police are that about 9:20 am, the TVJ employee was travelling in a vehicle along Seashore Place when he saw the accused and stopped to offer him a ride to his house.
While on route, an argument reportedly developed between the two, and a tussle ensued. It is alleged that Dormiville retrieved the media worker’s licensed firearm from the vehicle, exited and opened gunfire at the complainant.
He then escaped on foot in the area. The injured man was assisted to the hospital by residents, where he was treated and admitted in stable condition.
