Social Aviator to continue winning ways in Thornbird Stakes
Eight fillies will continue their Road to the Triple Crown series of races in tomorrow’s 32nd running of the $1.75-million Thornbird. The Graded Stakes contest will be contested over 7 furlongs (1,400m).
Below is the analysis of each runner and their chances of winning.
1. DANKA: (3 ch f by Aveunu Malcainu – Baby P) – Danka finished second by a length and a quarter behind
Social Aviator in the Hotline Stakes over 6 furlongs (1,200m) on March 15. She should be more effective over this distance and is expected to be one of the top contenders here.
2. SOCIAL AVIATOR: (3 ch f by Bold Conquest – Classy Aviator) – Social Aviator remains undefeated in two starts. She came from behind runners to easily win the Hotline Stakes on March 15, showcasing grit and determination. The increased distance should suit her better, and she could complete the hat-trick of wins.
3. MISS MONEYPENNY: (3 ch f by Bern Identity – Pomeroy’s Secret) – Miss Moneypenny looks well held by this distance and is unlikely to pose a threat.
4. LADY BABITA: (3 ch f by Soul Warrior – Lady Abhijita) – Lady Babita finished third behind Social Aviator and Danka in the Hotline Stakes on March 15. With both Social Aviator and Danka present, her chances of winning are slim. Note: Blinkers off, visor on.
5. HANSA: (3 b f by Successful Native – Cape) – Hansa won her last start but is not expected to repeat the feat here.
6. SUMMER PALACE: (3 b f by Bold Conquest – England Rose) – Summer Palace made a winning debut over 5 ½ furlongs (1,100m) on March 23, romping home by 2 ½ lengths in 1:08.3. She appears to be a classy filly and could make a bold bid for first place.
7. BURNING HEDGE: (3 ch f by Hedge Fund – Burning Clearance) – Burning Hedge won the Jamaica Two-Year-Old Stakes over one mile on December 26, 2024. Although she has had two unsuccessful runs against older horses, she has a good chance of winning now that she’s racing against her peers.
8. LINGUIST: (3 b f by Aveenu Malicainu – Bilingual) – Linguist has no realistic chance of winning this race.
