Former Port Maria Mayor Walter Brady dies at 88
Former Mayor of Port Maria, Walter Brady has died.
Brady died on Thursday aged 88.
He was the councillor for the Hampstead Division and chairman of the St Mary Parish Council from 1981 to 1982.
Brady was a candidate for the Jamaica Labour Party in St Mary Central in the 1980 elections.
He worked as a teacher, salesman and life underwriter before starting his own farm.
A graduate of the Jamaica School of Agriculture, Brady was reportedly once St Mary’s leading banana and winter vegetable farmer.
He is survived by his wife of 63 years Norma and their three children – Michelle, Micheal and Dwight.
