Briana Campbell sets NAIA 100m hurdles record
KINGSTON, Jamaica -Former St Jago High athlete Briana Campbell of Life University in Florida, continued her torrid start to college track and field after she broke the National Association of Intercollegiate Athletics (NAIA) 100m hurdles record, running 13.25 seconds (1.5m/) at the recent Emory Dooley Elite in Atlanta.
Her time broke the previous NAIA best 13.28 seconds set in 2023 by compatriot Salieci Myles of William Carey University, and was named NAIA female track athlete of the week.
Campbell added the outdoor record to the indoor record (8.09 seconds) to win the 60 hurdles at the NAIA Indoor Championships earlier.
She was on fire in Atlanta as she also won the women’s 100m in an NAIA leading 11.49 seconds and is also ranked second in the 200m with 23.64 seconds, which is also the year’s fastest wind-legal time among NAIA athletes.
