Farmer confesses to relative’s murder
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A farmer has been slapped with several charges after allegedly killing his relative and leaving the body overnight.
Twenty-seven-year-old Alton Levy otherwise called “Dup Dap” of Rock Hall, St Andrew has been charged with murder, using a firearm to commit an offence, possession of a prohibited weapon, and unauthorised possession of ammunition following the shooting death of 33-year-old Fabian Carr otherwise called “Pop” of Burkewood district.
Reports from the Constant Spring police are that on Monday, March 17 about 8:00 am, the police received information about a body seen in a house in the Burkewood community. The lawmen visited the location and Carr was seen laying on his back in a pool of blood with multiple gunshot wounds.
An investigation was launched and Levy turned himself in to police on Thursday and confessed to the offence.
It was revealed that about 7:30 pm on Sunday, March 16, Levy and Carr had a disagreement which escalated into a physical fight during which Levy brandished a firearm and opened gunfire at Carr, hitting him in the head and upper body.
He later brought the police to where he hid the murder weapon and gave a statement thereafter. He was formally charged on Monday, April 7.
His court date is being finalised.
