McLaughlin-Levrone has perfect Grand Slam, brings curtain down in Kingston
American superstar Sydney McLaughlin-Levrone brought the curtains down on the inaugural Grand Slam Track in Kingston by capturing the Women’s Long Hurdles with a maximum 24 points, earning herself US$100,000.
McLaughlin-Levrone clocked 50.32 into a head win of -2.9 m/s to win the 400m, well clear of Andrenette Knight of Jamaica in a season’s best of 52.09. American Dalilah Muhammed was third in 52.21.
Jamaica’s Shiann Salmon was fourth in 52.25 while her countrywoman Rushell Clayton did not finish, pulling up early in the race.
Muhammed with 14 points was second overall for her US$50,000 while Knight did well for third overall and US$30,000 (J$4.7m). Salmon was fourth overall with nine points and pocketed US$25,000 (J$3.9m).
Clayton, who failed to secure a point in the 400m after finishing third in the 400m hurdles, finished in sixth with six points and will get US$15,000 (J$2.4m).
