Flankers FC hope third time lucky in Sandals Major League final
MONTEGO BAY, St James—Flankers FC will hope the third time will be the charm when they take on two-time former champions Reggae Youths in the final of the St James/Sandals Resorts International Major League final at the Montego Bay Sports Complex today, starting at 3:00 pm.
Flankers FC will be playing in their third consecutive final, losing to Reggae Youths two years ago and to Granville United last season.
Both teams are unbeaten through the season, with Reggae Youths topping Zone A with 18 points, scoring 22 goals in eight games played.
Flankers FC also topped Zone B with 24 points from their 10 games and conceded a league low four goals.
In the semi-finals, Flankers FC beat Lilliput Rovers 4-2 on aggregate, winning the first game 2-0 and then coming from two goals down in the second leg to earn a 2-2 draw.
Reggae Youths had a more comfortable passage, hammering Green Pond SC 6-1 over both legs, winning the return leg game 4-0 after winning the first.
