Farewell, Wellesley Bolt
Dear Editor,
When a son loses a father, the emotional cord is loosed but never severed.
The adage “Like father, like son” is telling of the genetic bond which Wellesley Bolt deepened with his son, Usain, by introducing him to sport, which was in his, Wellesley’s, DNA .
An unassuming gentleman, Wellesley’s abiding roots in Trelawny unmistakably gave him a deeper understanding and appreciation of family and the importance of supporting filial aspirations.
On behalf of the Jamaican Olympic family, and personally, I convey heartfelt regrets to his wife, Jennifer, Usain and his siblings, as well as the rest of the family.
May the angels surround his soul and deliver it to our Father as it transitions.
