#Champs2025: Excelsior’s Kimeka Smith wins girls’ Class 1 shot put
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Excelsior High’s Kimeka Smith took the gold medal in the Class One girls’ shot put after throwing 15.02m on Saturday’s final day of the 115th ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships at the National Stadium.
Smith, who was second in the javelin throw and also participated in the Heptathlon, put on an outstanding show going over 14.43m on all six throws as St Catherine High’s Able Mills was second with 13.83m and Hydel High’s Natassia Burrell was third with 13.80m.
Meanwhile, Campion College’s Stefvanco Henry won the Class Three girls’ long jump with a wind-aided 5.61m (4.4m/s).

Immaculate Conception’s Ashley Barrett was second with a wind-aided 5.56m (4.5m/s) and St Mary High’s high jump champion Sackoya Palmer was third with 5.55m (1.1m/s).
