NCB Midas cards to be deactivated Monday
KINGSTON, Jamaica— Customers of the National Commercial Bank Jamaica Limited (NCB) who are still using NCB Midas cards must upgrade to the NCB Visa debit card before Monday as all Midas debit cards will be deactivated on March 31, 2025.
The cards will no longer be accepted for transactions at automated banking machines (ABMs) and point-of-sale (POS) terminals, NCB reminded on Thursday.
The Midas card was first introduced in the early 2000s and has been in use for over two decades. The bank says that as technology has advanced, NCB has moved to adopt the NCB Visa debit card, a newer, more secure and more widely-accepted option.
Customers still using Midas cards are encouraged to upgrade to the Visa debit ahead of the deadline to avoid any disruption in service.
The bank says cards can be upgraded at any NCB branch or NCB Remote Service centres at MegaMart locations island-wide on select weekends. To upgrade, customers should take a valid government-issued ID and Taxpayer Registration Number (TRN)
