#Champs2025: St Mary High’s Sackoya Palmer wins girls’ Class 3 high jump
KINGSTON, Jamaica — St Mary High School’s Sackoya Palmer won the girls’ Class Three high jump in a mild upset on Thursday’s third day of the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships at the National Stadium.
All three medallists cleared 1.65m with the medals allocated according to count-backs, that is, tie breakers, with Palmer who was also second at the Carifta Trials, having a “clean card” up to 1.65m before failing at 1.70m.
St Jago High’s Brianna Stewart cleared three of her four heights on second attempts while Campion College’s Stefvanco Henry needed a third jump at 1.65m.
St Catherine High’s Gabriella Treasure, who was second last year with 1.68m, was fourth with 1.65m.
