Patriots, Falcons clash in CPL 2025 opener
ST JOHN’S, Antigua (CMC) — The St Kitts & Nevis Patriots will kick off their 2025 Republic Bank Caribbean Premier League (CPL) campaign at home against the Antigua & Barbuda Falcons in the opening match of the tournament.
CPL announced that the competition, which is now in its 13th year, will run from August 14 to September 21.
Defending champions Saint Lucia Kings will play their first match against the Falcons at Sir Vivian Richards Stadium on August 17.
A total of 34 matches will be played, with each of the six teams competing in 10 group-stage fixtures and the knockout rounds and final slated to be held at Guyana National Stadium in Providence.
CPL’s Tournament Operations Director Michael Hall said he expects this year’s competition to live up to what he describes as its usual high standards.
“We are thrilled to once again deliver a world-class tournament that brings together passionate cricket fans from across the Caribbean and beyond,” he said.
“The 2024 edition exceeded all expectations and we are confident that the 2025 tournament will build on that success, providing unforgettable moments for players and spectators alike.”
