#Champs2025: Immaculate’s Jaeda Robinson leads girls’ Class 2 long jump
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Immaculate Conception High’s Jaeda Robinson jumped 5.84m (-0,6m/s) on her only attempt to lead the qualification for Thursday’s final of the girls’ Class Two long jump at the ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys’ and Girls’ Athletics Championships at the National Stadium.
This event is expected to be one of the most competitive with a quality field including medallists from both Class Two and Class Three last year.
Robinson had placed second in Class Two last year while Rihanna Chambers of St Catherine High who jumped a wind aided 5.54m (3.2m/s) on Tuesday had finished fourth.
Hydel High’s Jenice Dunkley who has the longest jump this year so far — 5.81m — also qualified with 5.39m (0.9m/s) while her teammate Zavien Bernard who placed third in Class three in 2024, also made progress with 5.52m (0.5m/s).
Mt Alvernia High’s Malia Housen, a previous Class Three finalist also qualified for the final with 5.25m (-0.0m/s).
