Bomb Night, Ridge Liner deliver first wins of the season for Marlon Brown, Winston Morris
TRAINERS Marlon Brown and Winston Morris celebrated their first wins of the 2025 racing season on Saturday, March 22, 2025 with Bomb Night and Ridge Liner, respectively.
For Brown, this win by Bomb Night comes just days after his election as president of the United Racehorse Trainers’ Association of Jamaica.
Bomb Night, ridden by apprentice jockey Richie Shakes, staged a dramatic comeback, coming from the back of rivals to win a Maiden Condition race for native-bred four-year-olds and upward over 5 furlongs (1,000m) straight.
The Soul Warrior offspring edged Alkebulan (Jawani Forbes) and Roman Princess (Abigail Able) by three parts of a length, stopping the clock in 1:04.1 (24.3 x 49.4).
Ridge Liner, with apprentice jockey Emelio McLean aboard, delivered a dominant performance in a Restricted Allowance IV contest over 5 furlongs straight.
The Dreamliner offspring romped to a 4¼-length victory in 1:01.0 (24.3 x 47.4), leaving Jack Daniel (Raddesh Roman) and
Princess Akilah (Tevin Foster) in second and third place, respectively.
