Update: Classes dismissed early at St James High
ST JAMES, Jamaica — The Jamaica Observer has been reliably informed that face-to-face classes have ended for the day at St James High School.
Classes have reportedly been moved online for the day.
It’s uncertain if it is a result of a situation this morning where staff members arrived and found the gates to the institution padlocked.
There are also unconfirmed reports of a water issue at the institution.
However, students who were there for the morning shift could be seen leaving the institution in droves just after 10:00 am.
When quizzed, most said they did not know the reason why classes had ended early.
There are reports that personnel from the Ministry of Education’s Region 4 office and members from the St James police were at the school in the morning.
It’s uncertain what transpired during that time.
