T&T prime minister to meet with US Secretary of State in Jamaica
PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (CMC) – Trinidad & Tobago Prime Minister Stuart Young is scheduled to travel to Jamaica on Wednesday to meet with United States Secretary of State, Marco Rubio.
The talks are expected to focus on US foreign policy and the effect on Trinidad and Tobago and the wider region.
Young believes the bilateral discussions provide a strategic opportunity to highlight the importance of the relationship between Trinidad and Tobago, Caricom and the United States, and to focus on exploring areas for the deepening of cooperation.
The prime minister notes that his meeting with Rubio is in keeping with his undertaking to continue to engage in dialogue at the highest level of the United States administration for the benefit of all the people of Trinidad and Tobago.
Other Caricom leaders are also expected to travel to Jamaica for bilateral discussions with the United States.
Minister of Foreign and Caricom Affairs, Amery Browne will accompany the prime minister to Jamaica.
