Social Aviator soars to victory in Hotline Stakes
Social Aviator (Bold Conquest – Classy Aviator) came from behind runners to easily win the $1.2-million Hotline Stakes on Saturday, March 15, 2025, solidifying her position as a strong contender for the upcoming Classic races. The Hotline is one of the major prep races on the ‘Road to the Triple Crown’ series, specifically designed for native-bred three-year-old fillies.
Owned by Test Pilot, trained by Jason DaCosta, and ridden by Robert Halledeen, Social Aviator dominated the Restricted Allowance II race, covering 6 furlongs (1,200m) in 1:15.1 (23.3 x 48.0). She secured the win by a length and a half, showcasing her exceptional skill and agility.
Below, the Jamaica Observer’s The Supreme Racing Guide analyses the outcome of the race.
FIRST – SOCIAL AVIATOR – Demonstrated remarkable grit and determination, overcoming an early deficit to secure a strong victory. This performance suggests she’ll excel at longer distances and has established herself as a top contender, likely favourite, for the Thornbird Stakes (7 furlongs/1400m).
SECOND – DANKA – Despite being the overwhelming favourite, Danka ran a respectable race, positioning herself close to the pace and making a timely move. She was simply outdone by a better horse on the day. Expect her to rebound strongly, particularly at longer distances.
THIRD – LADY BABITA – Attempted to seize control early, surging to the front of the pack. Although she led the field into the lane, she lacked the class of the top two finishers. Lady Babita’s day in the sun will come soon.
FOURTH – SIMPLY ENCHANTING – Ran as expected.
FIFTH – MIGHTY GULLY – Never a winning factor.
SIXTH – ENTHUSIASM– Something appeared amiss with Enthusiasm, as she was prominent early but suddenly faltered navigating the half-mile turn. Expect her to rebound in future races.
