YouTube stats shows Shake It to the Max continues to dominate

Shake It to the Max, a viral hit single by Ghanaian-American singer Moliy has been dominating the airwaves as much as it has social media.

According to statistics garnered from the popular streaming site YouTube, the track, which has been remixed with the addition of Jamaican dancehall sensations Skillibeng and Shenseea, has been the most listened-to track on the platform across Jamaica over the past month.

The official audio of the track, which debuted some three months ago, has racked up a whopping 8.7 million views on YouTube.

Moliy jetted to Jamaica earlier this month to shoot the music video for Shake It to the Max remix. The official music video for the remix, which features Skillibeng and Shenseea, was released over the weekend and is racing towards half a million views on the platform in just over 48 hours. It is also the #6 trending song on the island.

According to the data garnered from YouTube charts, the audio version of the track amassed just under a million views in the last 28 days alone. Checks made by the Jamaica Observer to Moliy’s YouTube channel shows she has just over 60,000 subscribers, making her viral single her biggest track to date.

The entertainer, who now resides in Ghana, has work on her channel dating as far back as four years ago which have barely amassed 150,000 views on the popular streaming platform.

In a recent interview with the Observer, Silent Addy and Disco Neil, the Miami-based producers responsible for the track, shared that they knew the single had hit potential the moment they finished recording.

“We definitely felt a vibe and energy and there were certain parts of the song where we said, ‘This had potential,’ ” said Disco Neil.

“We definitely manifested this song. It’s been years in the making and it did exactly what we’ve been wanting to do in the music, which is try to bridge the gap between Jamaica and the world… People like the song and so the only thing we need to do is get it to more ears,” Silent Addy added.

While Shake It to the Max occupies the #1 spot on YouTube charts, data for the past month show Masicka’s Whites, Jamal and Cash Code’s Ballandor rounding out the top three.

Chronic Law continues to dominate the streaming numbers locally. Like he did in 2024, he seems to be on his way to being the most streamed local act in 2025. In the past 90 days, the Proud deejay has amassed 27.6 million views on the platform. His numbers double that of Vybz Kartel, who occupies the #2 spot with 13.9 million views over the past 90 days. Masicka comes in at #3 with 12 million views so far this year.

Jamal, Squash, Skippa, Alkaline, DJ Mac, Popcaan, and Ai Milly round out the top 10 acts with the highest streaming numbers on
YouTube for 2025 so far. No female dancehall acts made the list which rounded out at the top 15.
