D’Syanide can see ‘Clearly Now’
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Emerging dancehall artiste D’Syanide is gunning for dancehall’s top spot with his latest single, ‘Clearly Now’, a prime example of thug motivation for anyone seeking to break the shackles of generational poverty.
“The feedback from ‘Clearly Now’ has been fantastic, this song was basically what we as youths growing up see, the corruption, the brutality, the terrible poverty and the hope of a better tomorrow….just one big mix, an ongoing story which we see and experience every day in our everyday lives,” he said.
The uptempo production is elevated by D’Syanide’s sparkling vocals which carry an uphill determination. When the talented singer croons ‘clearly now’, it is the very sound of triumph.
Visuals released for the single some time ago have been given a boost in terms of visibility and streams as a result of an aggressive street and online marketing strategy employed by the independent label TriniJam Entertainment.
“The single has been added to radio playlists right across the Caribbean,” D’Syanide shared.
He grew up in the rough and tumble conclave called ‘Bay Root’ in Rose Heights in Montego Bay, St James and attended Cambridge High School where he began to write songs and experiment with music.
After leaving high school, two of his friends suggested that he begin a career in music. His music leader, Ras Ten, who recognised his talent, christened him D’Syanide. He soon began to finetune his craft and released his first single, Brand New Man, in 2012.
He continued to work on his craft, taking odd jobs in construction, using his wages to bankroll his music.
D’Syanide is ready to propel his career to the next level and has been spending a lot of time in the studio to finish his debut EP. The project will be a mix of get-money tracks, inspirational gems and adrenaline-pumping club bangers.
“I see myself as a people person, a voice of the nation as I’m representing for the people with less opportunity, the voiceless, the disenfranchised and the forgotten,” he said.
One day, he hopes that he can win a collaboration with international acts.
“I want to tour and see the world, that’s why it is important that the music reaches the right platforms. Shout out to all my Trini links,” he said.
