ITA rectifies printing issues at 3 service hubs, resumes distribution of fitness certificates
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The Island Traffic Authority (ITA) has resolved printing issues at three of its service hubs which disrupted the issuing of fitness certificates on Wednesday.
In a statement on Friday, the ITA said the disruption was caused by an unexpected shortage of the specialised paper required for printing the certificates.
It said the affected service hubs were Swallowfield, Spanish Town Road, and Spanish Town which it said experienced high levels of traffic leading to a rapid depletion of the document supply.
The authority has since apologised to the public for the inconvenience and said fitness certificates are now available at all affected locations.
The ITA said it remains committed to delivering reliable and efficient service and will take steps to prevent similar disruptions in the future.
