The Aquatic Sports Association of Jamaica (ASAJ) hosted its inaugural awards ceremony on March 1, 2025, at Terra Nova All-Suite Hotel in St Andrew, honouring the 2024 outstanding achievements of Jamaica’s national and age-group aquatic athletes.
The event, which also served as a fund-raiser, was a historic first for the ASAJ, designed to uplift the nation’s swimmers and boost the sport’s global presence.
Five-time Olympian and world champion Alia Atkinson delivered an inspiring keynote speech, urging young athletes to push beyond their limits and “dream big”.
The event was attended by notable figures, including Minister of Culture, Gender, Entertainment, and Sport Olivia Grange, who commended the ASAJ for using the awards as a platform to support athlete development.
The night recognised top performers across swimming, open water, diving, and artistic swimming, celebrating excellence at both local and international levels.
