Molynes rally to beat Vere 3-2 in JPL
KINGSTON, Jamaica – Molynes United rallied from two goals down in the first 10 minutes to beat Vere United 3-2 in their Jamaica Premier League third round game played at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex on Wednesday.
Jason Wright’s goal in time added completed the comeback for Molynes who snapped a four-game losing skid and moved into 10th place on 26 points.
Molynes were beating Vere in consecutive games after winning their second round clash 5-0. Vere had won the first round encounter 3-1.
It was the third straight loss for Vere who are without a win in their last 11 outings and slipped to 13th place in the 14-team league on 19 points, one more than last place Humble Lion.
Robino Gordon scored in the second and 10th minutes to give Vere a flying start before Nickache Murray pulled a goal back in the 13th minute.
Marlon Pennicooke pulled Molynes United level at 2-2 when he scored in the 46th minute before Wright, who replaced Pennicooke in the 74th minute, scored the winner in time added at the end of the second half.
