Service disruption as a result of vandalism — Digicel
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Telecommunications provider Digicel says the outage affecting its customers Tuesday is as a result of intentional damage.
“An act of vandalism, where fibre cables were intentionally cut, has been confirmed and is currently impacting both residential and business services for Digicel customers,” the company said early Tuesday.
In addition, the company said its customer service system is down and it is encouraging customers to stay informed via social media channels, WhatsApp, and SMS.
“Our technical teams are working tirelessly to restore services as quickly as possible. We deeply regret the inconvenience this has caused and understand how critical these services are to you,” Digicel said in a release.
