Don’t take God for granted!
God has everything.
God has given us everything, don’t take Him for granted. Everything there is on Earth has been made by Him and given to us, including our lives. Our eyes, ears, breath, our taste, our heartbeat, our hands and our feet, all our members are given to us by God. Take one away and everything is out of joint. Even our veins and arteries in our bodies, our tiniest of details are made and needed.
All are given to us by God and can be taken away by God. Our mind, our heart, our kidneys and our liver are part of our life. Take one away, and everything will malfunction. All of us and everything in us requires the work of the great creator to give and to continue to give us what we need to live.
Don’t say, “I am self-sufficient in my continuation of life”. Everyone needs God at every moment of their life to continue living day by day, moment to moment for time to come, and as it has been all the days of our life. It is also true for everyone to live today, yesterday, and tomorrow.
Let us not forget that everyone on your island and all the countries in the world have been given the preciousness of life. Not only you, but He wants you and everyone to have life. He gave you and your neighbour the gift of life. Some of us love God but not our neighbour. Some of us do not care about our neighbour. We do not know our next-door neighbour or care about our next-door neighbour. We do not know their names. Moreover, we don’t care about the poor and forgotten. We only care about ourselves and our business and money.
Do not say, “Who can stop me now? I will do what I will, I have my goals in life and my family to care for, they must enjoy life and so must I. I can do what I want. God has not punished me for what I have done so far. He has not stopped me from doing what I want.” But remember, brothers and sisters, that the Lord is patient and kind, He bides His time.
He can do with us whatever He wants and whenever He wants. He told us there is death and there is life after death; there is heaven or hell for all eternity. His one commandment is to love Him and to love our neighbour, particularly the poor and forgotten ones. At the heart of life’s choices it is either what I want or what God wants.
I sin, I get away with it, His compassion is great. He doesn’t punish me, I do what I please, nobody dares to correct me. If I do wrong again, He will have compassion. Remember, He will have mercy but we don’t know when, what hour. His fury is poured out on the selfish and sinners.
Do not delay, change now, give now. In loving the poor, you love the Lord and your neighbour. Maybe His anger is appeased otherwise His anger blazes. He will make you perish. There is a day of reckoning. Don’t rely on your riches. The Lord gives and the Lord takes away, blessed be His name.
Don’t take God for granted!
Blessings!
