Florida-based singer Che’ Fya makes musical debut with ‘Cry No More’
Listening to music was one of the favourite pastimes used by Che’ Fya as an escape from her personal experiences. Today, Che’ Fya, who works as a realtor, has decided to pursue her musical ambitions, with the release of her debut single Cry No More.
The Savannah-la-Mar, Westmoreland native who now resides in West Palm Beach, Florida said her delay in recording music was due to lack of self-confidence.
“I never believed I could. The confidence just wasn’t there until I eventually learned the behind the scenes of producing good music,” Che’ Fya told Observer Online on Thursday.
While her personal mission is to blend “traditional reggae and dancehall with contemporary influences” to help heal listeners with her music, Che’ Fya is hoping that her distinctive vocal style will create an immersive experience for listeners.
“My lyrics are socially conscious and personal, addressing themes that resonate with the public,” she said.
Che’ Fya, (real name Jasief Lache) released Cry No More on January 1 this year. The track, produced by Scrappy Entertainment, she says, is just a prelude of what’s to come.
“I plan to become a key player in the music industry, blending genres or promoting emerging talent. I also plan to use technology to innovate music creation, distribution and experience. Cultivate passion, network, and adapt to the changing music landscape,” the Florida-based musician said.
And while she is gearing up to release a follow up single titled Act A Fool, she has plans to commence work on an EP.
“My music blends hip-hop, R&B, and soul, pop, dancehall & reggae, with smooth melodies, introspective lyrics, and infectious rhythms that often address love, personal growth, and social issues, which creates emotional connections,” she said.
Asked what led her to music, Che’ Fya said: “I was inspired to pursue music from a young age, my personal experiences, challenges, moments of joy, the influence of various genres and the way they can convey deep emotions all contributed to my desire to express myself through music. Growing up in a vibrant musical environment like church for example, I was surrounded by family members and friends who either played instruments or sang, I found myself captivated by the rhythms and melodies that filled my home.”
She shared the inspiration behind Cry No More.
“The inspiration came from personal experiences of overcoming hardship and finding strength in vulnerability and my own life events, reflecting on moments of sadness and struggle, but ultimately emphasizing hope and the journey towards healing,” Che’ Fya confided. “I aim to create a unique, emotionally connected music experience by blending various genres and styles, fostering a strong community through live performances and collaborations.”
