Haveli: Small but Mighty
Handcrafted pieces from Haveli, the clothing line helmed by Jamaican designer Mina Robertson, continue to score big with the international fashion glossies. Her Seema Linen Dress began making the rounds once HELLO! Travel and Country & Town House included it on its style lists. The darling pure linen dress with its eye-catching tortoise shell buttons and matching belt buckle landed on Country & Town House’s ‘On The Radar: Biodegradable Threads’ edit for its style take on sustainability. The dress features a 100 per cent linen outer and 100 per cent cotton lining. It was also picked up by HELLO!
Travel — a subsidiary of weekly magazine HELLO! — for its Dream Escape feature, a write-up on what to wear and where to stay in Forte dei Marni, by the mag’s Senior Sub-Editor Ria Hopkinson, and travel and wellness writer Harriet Charnock-Bates.
Most recently Haveli’s Mira Linen Maxi Skirt, Yahvi Embroidered Shorts, and Jhala Linen Pants made the
whowhatwear.com’s ‘Small But Mighty: 29 Beautiful Independent Brands to Add to Your Roster’ list. The brand was noted as an independent brand to watch. Who What Wear Freelance Fashion Editor Avalon Afriyie says she spent the better part of last year keeping tabs on the pieces that caught her attention. “So you’ve come to the right place if you’re interested in discovering new names. It’s a special feeling knowing that whilst buying from small brands, you’re supporting artisans, makers and businesses in their infancy,” she wrote.
With pieces available for purchase internationally on haveli.com and locally at Locale, #ThePink Building at 4 Holborn, Tuesday Style Fashion (TSF) revisits an old fave.
