WIPA executive returned unopposed
KINGSTON, Jamaica — The West Indies Players’ Association (WIPA) has re-elected the incumbent leadership team unopposed for a new term ending in 2027.
The decision was made during the association’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) on Sunday at the St Kitts Marriott in St Kitts.
As such, Wavell Hinds will serve his seventh consecutive term unopposed as president, alongside Nixon McLean (vice president), Wayne Lewis (honorary secretary), Liam Sebastien (assistant secretary), and Ridley Jacobs (treasurer).
Rashada Williams was also nominated and appointed by the quorum as the second non-elected director alongside Shakera Selman.
The annual general meeting was held in tandem with the Women’s Super50 tournament, allowing participating players to attend, and offering the attendees greater insight into the association’s operations over the past twelve months.
“I am committed to continue to make our players and membership the priority of my leadership. I thank the membership for the trust and confidence that has been placed in me and my executive. I would also like to welcome our new director, Rashada Williams, and I wish her, and the executive, all the best for the new term,” Hinds, WIPA president and chief executive officer said.
