Reggae Girlz defeat Peru 2-0
Jody Brown and Kayla McKenna both scored and assisted as Jamaica’s Reggae Girlz beat Peru 2-0 in the first of their two friendly internationals at Estadio Miguel Grau in Lima, Peru on Sunday.
It was the third straight win for the Girlz – their first three-win streak since 2022 – after beating South Africa in two games played in Montego Bay late last year.
Brown scored her 16th international goal for Jamaica in the fifth minute with an assist from McKenna. They flipped the script in the 52nd minute when Brown provided the assist for McKenna’s fifth international goal.
McKenna was scoring in back-to-back games, having scored the winner in the second game against South Africa in December. The teams will meet again on Wednesday.
It was Jamaica’s first win over a South American opposition since 2022 when they beat Paraguay in Montego Bay.
