Three teenage boys charged with rape
ST CATHERINE, Jamaica – Three teenage boys have been slapped with seven charges including rape following the assault of a 16-year-old girl in the St Catherine last year.
The suspects are ages 15, 16 and 17.
Reports from the Old Harbour Police are that the complainant and one of the teenage boys, who were friends, met about 1:25 pm on Monday, February 12, 2024 and made the decision to visit his home.
When she got to the house, the two other boys were seen. The boys then allegedly locked the complainant inside the residence and raped her. `
The girl later made a report to the police, and an investigation was launched.
On Friday, lawmen made a breakthrough in the case and all boys were apprehended. They were subsequently charged with: rape, grievous sexual assault, unlawful detention to have sexual intercourse, unlawful detention to commit grievous sexual assault, indecent assault, attempted rape, aiding and abetting rape.
A court date is to be finalised for them.
