Julian Forte, Tia Clayton win 60m at Gibson/McCook
KINGSTON, Jamaica- Julian Forte won the men’s 60m open at Saturday’s Gibson/McCook Relays in a life time best 6.48 seconds (1.0m/s) while Tia Clayton won the women’s race in a wind-aided 7.02 seconds (2.6m/s).
Forte won the third and final section, beating his previous best 6.55 seconds set in 2017 with Nishion Ebanks second in 6.55 seconds (1.0m/s) and Wolmer’s schoolboy Gary Card taking third with a personal best 6.57 seconds (1.3m/s).
Tia Clayton, the Olympic Games 100m finalist, was the overall winner, just ahead of her twin sister Tina who ran a wind aided 7.04 seconds (2.2m/s). Shashalee Forbes was third with 7.12 seconds (2.6m/s).
