Thieanna-Lee Terrleonge to sign professional contract with Adidas — sources
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Promising Jamaican teenage sprinter Thieanna-Lee Terrelonge is in negotiations to sign with German sportswear brand Adidas, Observer online has been reliably informed.
The 17-year-old, who was reportedly withdrawn from Edwin Allen High earlier this year, is expected to be coached by Shanikie Osbourne at the newly formed Uptimum Performance Track Club, sources also said.
The athlete who won the Class 2 100m and was second in the 200m at last year’s ISSA/GraceKennedy Boys and Girls Championships, has been sidelined due to injuries that also limited her participation at the World Athletics Under 20 Championships in Lima, Peru in late August 2024.
In Lima, she placed fourth in a time of 12.03 seconds in the first round of the women’s 100m, limping home on the opening day and taking no further part in the championships.
Earlier in the year she was second in the Under 20 Girls 100m to teammate Sabrina Dockery and was part of the gold medal-winning women’s Under 20 4x100m relay team.
Terrelonge has a personal best of 11.13 seconds set at last year’s JAAA National Junior Championships and 23.53 seconds in the 200m set in Costa Rica in 2023 when she won the NACAC Under 18 sprint double championships.
Efforts by Observer Online to contact representatives were fruitless.
