Sandals Dunn’s River cops three National Quality Awards
SANDALS Dunn’s River emerged a major winner at the Bureau of Standards Jamaica (BSJ) and Ministry of Industry, Investment and Commerce 14th National Quality Awards Ceremony and Banquet at Jamaica Pegasus hotel recently.
The resort copped the National Award for Excellence in Service and was also the winner of two sectional awards for Service Excellence in Customer Focus, and Excellence in Business Results.
This prestigious event celebrates and honours Jamaican companies which have demonstrated business excellence in four major sectors — manufacturing; service; micro, small and medium-size enterprises; and agriculture.
Sandals Dunn’s River General Manager Deryk Meany, who was there to receive the prizes, was elated at winning the three awards and attributed the success to the team members.
“We have a vibrant and well-trained team at Sandals Dunn’s River, committed to the highest standard of service excellence,” said Meany.
“The audit conducted by the Bureau of Standards was very comprehensive and we are happy to come out on top,” added Meany.
Since its inception in 2004 the National Quality Awards programme has stood as Jamaica’s premier quality system-based awards initiative.
To be eligible for the awards, participating organisations had to undergo a comprehensive assessment process, beginning with the submission of a detailed self-assessment form and culminating in an intensive audit conducted by BSJ-contracted auditors.
The results of this rigorous evaluation reaffirm Jamaica’s commitment to fostering quality standards that drive innovation and global competitiveness.
