YG Marley teams with Busta Rhymes on Treasure and Gold
YG Marley makes his second appearance on Billboards’ Rhythmic Top 40 Airplay chart with Treasure and Gold, a collaboration with famed rapper Busta Rhymes, which moves up from #39 to #32 in its second week on the chart.
Treasure and Gold is featured on Busta Rhymes’s EP Dragon Season: The Awakening, which was released in January via The Conglomerate Entertainment/Hitmaker Music Group.
YG Marley’s previous entry on the Rhythmic Top 40 Airplay chart was the collaborative effort Awuke with Davido.
Awuke regains strength on Billboard’s US Afrobeats Songs chart, as it bullets from #23 to #21 in its 15th week on the chart.
Close by Skip Marley loses steam on Rhythmic Top 40 Airplay, as it dips from #17 to #22 in its 14th week.
Now onto the Billboard Reggae Albums chart, where Vybz Kartel’s Viking – 10th Year Anniversary makes his exit to make way for Shaggy’s Hot Shot, which returns to the chart after a two-year absence.
Hot Shot re-enters the chart at #2, the highest it has ever risen. Released in August 2000, Hot Shot topped the Billboard 200 Albums chart and never charted on the Reggae Albums tally until two years ago.
Sean Paul’s Dutty Classics Collection jumps back onto the chart at #3, while World on Fire by Stick Figure, Greatest Hits by UB40, and Dutty Rock by Sean Paul occupy positions #4, 5 and 6.
Wisdom by Stick Figure is #7, while its Set in Stone remains at #8. Bob Marley and the Wailers are steady at #9 with Exodus, while Rastaman Vibration re-enters at #10. Legend continues to lead the pack, clocking 266 non-consecutive weeks at #1.
Over on the Rebel Vibez Top Ten Canadian Reggae chart, How Long by Blk Orchid continues its run in the #1 spot. Meanwhile, Karma by JUNO nominee SkyStar moves into the #3 position, and Put It On You by Tasha T rises to #6.
Love Doctor by Shuga spends a third week at #1 on the New York Reggae chart. Meanwhile, Sidem by Peaches Adaba moves up from #30 to #27.
There are two new entries on the South Florida Reggae chart: Praise You by Terry Linen appears at #24 while One Breath by Kashief Lindo debuts at #22.
Meanwhile, It’s Showtime by Tarrus Riley darts from #10 to #6, and the new #1 song is I’m Thankful by Ambelique.
