Three men charged following assault with machete
CLARENDON, Jamaica – Clarendon police have charged three men with assault after a man’s leg was broken with a machete in Denbigh in the parish on January 31.
Reports from the May Pen police are that about 10:30 pm, a man was at a bar when he got into an altercation with the accused men.
The altercation became physical and one of the accused allegedly used a machete to slap the complainant several times on the leg, causing it to break.
The injured man was assisted to the hospital, where he was admitted.
The complainant later made a report to the police and an investigation was launched.
On Friday, February, 14, an identification parade was conducted and all three men were pointed out to the police. They were then jointly charged.
Charged are: 32-year-old Evans Williams, a driver of Bushy Park, Clarendon; 28-year-old Neil Dawes, a driver of Castleton Drive, New Bowens, Clarendon and 25-year-old Kemar Watson, an undertaker of Hillview Crescent, New Bowens.
A court date is to be finalised for them.
