3 powerhouses, 1 stage, 1 unforgettable night
Beres Hammond, Shaggy, Sean Paul rock UBS Arena
Beres Hammond, Shaggy, and Sean Paul took the stage together for the first time at UBS Arena in Belmont Park, New York, on February 14, delivering a show that was equal parts celebration and history in the making.
Produced by Jammins Events, Inc, the Rock Away concert brought thousands of fans to the arena, many dressed in red for the occasion, creating an atmosphere that was not only festive but also deeply connected to the Caribbean community.
Shuga opened the show with a smooth, soulful set, blending original songs like Love Doctor with flawless renditions like No No No. She set the stage for Sean Paul, who followed with a high-energy run of dancehall classics. From Get Busy to Temperature, he delivered hit after hit, keeping the crowd on their feet as he commanded the stage alongside his dancers.
Next was Shaggy, whose unmistakable voice and charisma had the crowd singing along to every word of
It Wasn’t Me, Angel, and Boombastic. Towards the end of his set, he brought Sean Paul back on stage for their hit Go Down Deh, sending the energy through the roof as two of dancehall’s biggest stars shared the spotlight.
Closing the night, Beres Hammond, dressed in all white, delivered a soul-stirring performance backed by his full band. His signature tunes, including Rockaway and Can’t Stop A Man, filled the arena, offering a perfect balance to the night’s high-energy moments.
As the final moments approached, Shaggy and Sean Paul returned to the stage, with Beres Hammond for a finale that underscored the significance of the night — three reggae powerhouses, one stage, one unforgettable performance.
Beyond the music, the event carried a larger purpose. A portion of the proceeds will benefit American Foundation for The University of the West Indies (AFUWI), providing scholarships for students at The UWI, ensuring that the night’s impact extends beyond the stage and into the next generation.
