‘Kippo’ charged with murder and arson
A 17-year-old old labourer, Delroy Ingram, otherwise called ‘Kippo’ of Three Mile River in Westmoreland has been charged with murder and arson.
The deceased 42-year-old labourer Damion Cohen, otherwise called ‘Skateboard,’ of Chatteau Road, Frome, also in Westmoreland. Cohen met his demise at his home on February 3.
Reports from the Savanna-la-Mar police are that about 5:20 am, residents saw fire coming from Cohen’s house and alerted the police and fire department. On their arrival, the fire was extinguished, and Cohen’s charred remains were found among the rubble during a cooling down exercise.
The scene was processed, and the body was moved to the morgue pending a postmortem.
An investigation and subsequent operation led to Ingram being apprehended in his community and taken into custody three days later.
He was charged on February 10, after he gave a caution session and participated in a question-and-answer session in the presence of two justices of the peace.
His court date is being finalised.
