Jah Single tackles bad mind and envy on Cold World
Recording artiste Jah Single tackles the age-old issue of bad mind, envy and trust in his latest single Cold World.
Produced by Stoner Music Group in collaboration with Universal and J9 Production, Cold World was released on February 7.
“There are so many so-called friends who claim to support you and celebrate your success, but deep down, they don’t. Some of them would rather see you fail – or worse, gone,” the Florida-based Jah Single shared in an interview with Observer Online.
According to Jah Single, Cold World can be a coping mechanism for people with similar experiences.
“Trust no one, but respect everyone. As the Bible says, ‘The arm of flesh will fail you; you dare not trust your own’. I want everyone to stay vigilant and be mindful of the people around them. Always stay alert, anyone can switch up on you at any time,” he said.
Jah single, who is originally from March Pen Road in Spanish Town, describes his musical style as reggae fusion.
“My music is a unique blend of reggae and dancehall fused with other genres such as Afrobeats, Hip Hop and RnB. I could have done just reggae and dancehall, but I want to make music that will resonate with an international audience,” he shared.
Jah Single launched his recording career in 2019 with a single titled Pillion which was produced by Ransom Beats. Some of his other songs are Mow Down, In My Element and Bravo.
Late last year, he released the song Uber Boy, an ode to the sidemen.
