May 7 plea and case management hearing for couple
A May 7 court date has been set for plea and case management in the matter involving a St James couple who was allegedly found in possession of lead sheets and multiple bank cards.
Peta-Gaye Smith and Shakiel Slowley have been charged with possession of identity information and possession of access device.
The date was set when the case came up for mention in the St James Parish Court before Parish Judge Kaysha Grant-Pryce on Wednesday.
Attorney Charles Sinclair is representing the two defendants, who had their bails extended.
According to court documents, sometime in January the police conducted an operation in Providence Heights, St James, and visited the couple’s home.
The police said they found lead sheets during a search of the premises. They also found that the couple’s phones contained identity information of individuals living abroad.
After further investigation of the property, a number of bank cards linked to various individuals were found, the police said.
The couple was subsequently arrested and charged.
