Operational challenges could force transfers at KPH
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The South East Regional Health Authority (SERHA) says patients may have to be transferred as a result of operational challenges currently ongoing at the Kingston Public Hospital (KPH).
SERHA said Friday that the Accident & Emergency (A&E), main operational theatre, recovery room and intensive care unit (ICU) are all affected.
“Contingency measures have been put in place to ensure continuity of patient care. It may become necessary to transfer patients to other nearby healthcare facilities within SERHA for continued care,” it said.
The authority maintained that their operations and maintenance team along with external contractors are “actively working to restore normal operations and will provide periodic updates.”
