Racing United held 1-1 by Humble Lion
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Racing United’s record four games winning streak came to an end on Wednesday after they came from behind to earn a 1-1 draw against 10-man Humble Lion in the Jamaica Premier League second-round game played at the Effortville Community Centre in Clarendon.
Humble Lion who led from the fourth minute through a goal from Stephen Barnett, were reduced to 10 men in the 64th minute when goalkeeper Glenroy Samuels was sent off.
Deandre Johnson’s late goal, in the 83rd minute, rescued a point for Racing United as they extended their unbeaten run to six games and stayed in seventh place on 29 points.
Tivoli Gardens failed to capitalise on Racing United’s draw as they were also held 1-1 Chapelton Maroons at the Stadium East complex in Kingston and are on 28 points in eighth place.
Both goals came within seconds of each other in time added on in the first half as Nathaniel Howe gave Chapelton Maroons the lead before Janoi Williams got a swift response for Tivoli Gardens.
Meanwhile, in the other game played, Portmore United FC and Dunbeholden FC played out a 0-0 draw at Ferdie Neita Park.
