Fraser-Pryce gets symbolic key to Kingston, donates US$50,000 to Wolmer’s
KINGSTON, Jamaica — Jamaican sprint legend Shelly-Ann Fraser-Pryce was presented with the keys to the city by the Kingston and St Andrew Municipal Corporation (KSAMC) on Thursday.

The handing over ceremony took place at the Douglas Orane Auditorium at the Wolmer’s Trust High School for Boys in Kingston.
The track icon also used the opportunity to make a US$50,000 donation to her alma mater Wolmer’s High School for Girls.

In keeping with the festivities a plaque was also presented to the athlete. The award came in the form of seven pillars each representing the years spent at the school.
This is the second time that Fraser-Pryce received the keys to Kingston. In 2008, the track star was among several Jamaican athletes, including Usain Bolt and Veronica Campbell-Brown, who were handed the keys to the city by then Kingston’s Mayor, Desmond McKenzie.
