Jamaica’s connectivity boosted with Delta’s new Atlanta/Montego Bay flight
KINGSTON Jamaica — Jamaica’s tourism sector continues to soar with Delta Air Lines adding a new flight between Atlanta and Montego Bay.
The additional service, scheduled to operate from February 13 to April 13, will depart Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport at 5:59 pm and arrive in Montego Bay at 8:52 pm. This latest addition brings Delta’s total daily flights between Atlanta and Jamaica to five — four serving Montego Bay and one serving Kingston.
Senior Advisor and Strategist in the Ministry of Tourism, Delano Seiveright described the development as a “significant boost to Jamaica’s tourism connectivity”.
“Delta’s decision to add this additional service during the high-demand period is a testament to Jamaica’s growing appeal and strategic importance as a travel destination. This new schedule enhances the convenience for European travellers, allowing seamless connections through Atlanta, the busiest airport in the world,” Seiveright noted.
Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport is a critical hub for global travel, making this new flight a game-changer for travellers seeking efficient connections from Europe and other key markets.
The announcement follows high-level engagements led by Minister of Tourism Edmund Bartlett and other officials during a visit to Delta’s Atlanta headquarters in June 2023. These discussions focused on expanding connectivity and multi-destination opportunities for visitors from emerging markets such as India and Africa.
“Our discussions with the Delta team also explored the possibility of multi-destination experiences through Delta’s long-haul routes that coincide with our target for emerging markets,” Minister Bartlett previously noted.
Delta Air Lines, one of the world’s leading carriers, has long been a valued partner in Jamaica’s tourism growth. The airline’s extensive global network, coupled with its strategic hub in Atlanta, continues to play a crucial role in facilitating seamless travel for visitors to the island.
This development underscores Jamaica’s commitment to strengthening its position as a premier Caribbean destination, with unmatched air connectivity and world-class tourism offerings.
