Custos of Kingston to deliver Throne Speech
KINGSTON, Jamaica – The Throne Speech to mark Thursday’s ceremonial opening of the Parliament and the start of the 2025/26 parliamentary year will be delivered by the Custos of Kingston, Steadman Fuller.
Fuller will be deputising for Governor General Sir Patrick Allen.
The Throne Speech will outline the government’s legislative agenda for the upcoming parliamentary year.
The proceedings will feature the formal arrival of parliamentary officials, members of both Houses of Parliament, and other dignitaries, and will include the traditional inspection of the Guard of Honour.
It will be broadcast live via the Public Broadcasting Corporation of Jamaica (PBCJ), the Jamaica Information Service (JIS) and other media platforms.
After the ceremony, the House of Representatives will convene at 2:00 pm for the tabling of the 2025/2026 Estimates of Expenditure by Finance and Public Service Minister Fayval Williams.
