Man charged in murder of 14- year-old
ST ANDREW, Jamaica – Police say the main suspect in the murder of 14- year -old Price Johnson has been charged.
Thirty-eight-year-old Imanie Niah Lydner, an unemployed resident of Crescent Road, Kingston 13, was charged with multiple serious offences, including Johnson’s murder, housebreaking and wounding with intent.
Johnson, a student of Palm Grove, Spanish Town Road, was assaulted and murdered when a intruder gained access to her home on Thursday, February 6.
Police say the wounding charge relates to
Lydner’s alleged attack on a male who attempted to come to the child’s assistance.
He was reportedly hit in his head by Lydner in his bid to escape.
Police say the suspect was apprehended at his residence on Sunday, with assistance from his relatives after he had not been seen over the weekend.
He was taken into safe custody, where formal charges were laid against him on
Tuesday.
His court date has not been finalised but the Jamaica Constabulary Force (JCF) is urging anyone with further information on the matter or any other crime committed across the St Andrew South police division to contact the St Andrew South CIB, Crime Stop at 311, or the nearest police station.
