Wadada seek lead in St James FA/Sandals Major League
MONTEGO BAY, St James — Former champions Wadada United FC could take over the lead in the Zone A points tables in the St James Football Association/Sandals Resorts International Major League when they take on struggling defending champions Granville United at Granville Community Centre. The match is scheduled to start at 3:30 pm.
Wadada United are second in the table on 10 points, one point behind leaders Reggae Youths, who will not be in action in this round of matches. Granville United are at the foot of the table with one point from four games.
Wadada United are coming off a big win over Lilliput Rovers and will be seeking their first win over Granville United in at least two years. They had previously lost 0-4 and drawn 1-1 in two games last year.
Granville United have struggled so far this season, scoring only three goals, the joint lowest in the league. They have conceded eight goals.
Also this afternoon, Zone B leaders Green Pond SC are set to take on last-placed Norwood Strikers at Jarrett Park.
Norwood Strikers are yet to earn a point from their six games and have conceded a league-high 16 goals. Green Pond SC are expected to return to winning ways after they were held goalless by Montego Bay Boys Club last weekend.
It will be the best offence against the worst defence as Green Pond have so far scored 14 goals, led by Garth Bromwell who has notched four of those. Devoi Douglas has scored three times for Green Pond.
