KINGSTON, Jamaica—Sunshine Girls team captain Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard and her family are mourning the tragic loss of her unborn child.
This was confirmed by Netball Jamaica in a social media post a short while ago.
“It is with profound sadness that we extend our heartfelt condolences to our SSG Team Captain Jhaniele Fowler-Nembhard and her family during this unimaginable time of loss,” Netball Jamaica said. “Our thoughts and prayers are with Jhaniele as she mourns the passing of her precious baby. We stand with her in love, strength, and support, and we ask the netball family and community to join us in uplifting her in your prayers. May she find comfort in the outpouring of love and care from all of us.”
There has since been an outpour of support and well-wishes on social media towards the star goal shooter following the tragic news.
Fowler-Nembhard first announced in December 2024 that she and her husband were expecting a child which would see her sitting out the 2025 Super Netball season.
