Man charged after stabbing incident at NMIA
KINGSTON, Jamaica — A 32-year-old man has been charged following a knife fight at the Norman Manley International Airport (NMIA) in Kingston last week.
Police from the Kingston East Division charged Omar Murray of Vineyard Road, Kingston 3 with wounding with intent following the incident on Tuesday, January 7.
Reports are that about 12:55 pm, Murray and a man got into a dispute that became physical. It is alleged that Murray then used a knife to inflict multiple stab wounds to the lower abdomen of the other individual.
Lawmen were alerted to the scene and the man was rushed to the hospital where he was treated and released.
An official statement was given to the police and the accused man was sought, arrested and subsequently charged. A court date for him is being finalised.
