King’ charged with 2023 murder
ST MARY, Jamaica — A St Mary labourer has been charged with murder after being nabbed by police on Friday for a shooting in March 2023.
Twenty-one-year-old Ronald Davis, otherwise called ‘King’ has been charged with the murder of 22-year-old Odaine Martin otherwise called ‘Danny,’ a construction worker of Enfield, Annotto Bay, St Mary. Davis is also charged with possession of a prohibited weapon, unauthorised possession of ammunition and using a firearm to commit a felony in relation to the incident.
Reports from the Annotto Bay police are that about 10:00 pm, Martin visited his mother’s house. Minutes after leaving, he was reportedly pounced upon by Davis along the roadway who brandished a gun and opened fire, hitting him in the upper body and head.
The police were alerted and Martin was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. A warrant was later issued for the arrest of Davis.
He was held by police on January 11, 2025 during a targeted operation.

Davis was charged with the offences following a questions and answers session in the presence of an attorney. His court date is being finalised.
