St Mary police urge caution on roadways after motorcyclist dies in collision with car
ST MARY, Jamaica- The St Mary police are urging motorists to exercise caution on the roads and to adhere to traffic regulations.
The call comes following a motor vehicle crash on the Rio Nuevo main road in the parish on Monday, which left a motorcyclist dead.
Dead is 37-year-old Shagon Spencer of Fellowship Hall, St Mary.
Reports are that around 2:15 pm a grey 2019 Honda Accord motorcar and a purple Zamco CG motorcycle collided at the junction of the Rio Nuevo resorts in Stewart Town in St Mary. It is reported that the motorcycle was travelling in an easterly direction on the main road when it collided with the motorcar.
Spencer who was thrown from the motorcycle during the impact, sustained severe injuries to his legs, upper body and head. He was not wearing protective gear, according to reports.
Spencer was taken to the St Ann’s Bay Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries.
The St Mary police are investigating.
